Aruho Onesmas.

The founder of the project is Aruho Onesmas, a native of Rukungiri district located 150km away from the project site. Growing up in a large, economically disadvantaged family of 11 children, Onesmas faced financial challenges throughout his education. To support himself, he engaged in various jobs, including selling matooke in markets and working as a motorcycle (boda-boda) rider.

Despite the hardships, Onesmas completed his high school education. However, due to a lack of funds, he was unable to continue his studies immediately after high school. Returning to work as a boda-boda rider, he eventually secured employment in hotels around Lake Bunyoyi. It was during this time that Onesmas decided to pursue further education, eventually earning a bachelor's degree from Kabale University.

In his leisure time, Onesmas observed children in the community involved in hazardous activities such as stone quarrying and sand mining, despite being underage. This realization prompted him to initiate a children's care project in January 2020, with the aim of protecting children from rights violations and providing them with access to education.

Term Two 2026: A Fresh Start of Hope

On Monday the 25th of May 2026, we welcomed our children back to school as we officially began the second term of the year. It was a joyful and energetic start, with the children arriving eager and ready to learn.

We want to extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude to everyone who supported us during term one. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity made it possible for us to serve these children as well as we did. We humbly continue to ask for your partnership as we push forward through term two, determined to provide the best care and education for each young life entrusted to us.

One of our most cherished hopes for the near future is the construction of a children's home. Many of our learners miss school regularly due to challenges such as long distances from home, difficult family situations, and harsh weather conditions. Having permanent accommodation would give these children stability, safety, and uninterrupted access to education. It would also allow us to extend our reach and enrol more orphans and vulnerable children from farther distances who currently have no way to attend.

All of this can become a reality once we are able to acquire the land for the project. We invite you to stand with us in this vision - your support brings us one step closer to giving more children a home, and with it, a brighter and more hopeful future.

End of Term One Exams 2026

Our children are currently undertaking their end of term one exams for the year 2026, marking an important milestone as we approach the close of the term. We are grateful to God that all our children and staff members are in good health, happy, and actively engaged in their academic journey.

These examinations reflect the progress made throughout the term and highlight the dedication of both the learners and their teachers. It is encouraging to see the children continuing to grow in knowledge, confidence, and determination despite the challenges they may face.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who supports our mission of shaping the future of these young children. Without your generosity and care, many of these learners would not have access to education due to their underprivileged backgrounds. Your kindness, prayers, and continued involvement make a lasting difference in their lives.

As we look ahead, we are planning to construct a four-classroom building to accommodate the growing number of children and the addition of a new class level next year. We kindly ask for your continued support to help us achieve this important goal and expand our impact. Thank you for standing with us and being part of this meaningful journey.

Midterm One Exams 2026 in Progress

Our children are currently undertaking their midterm one exams for the year 2026. This is an important moment in the academic term as it allows both learners and teachers to assess progress and understanding of the lessons covered so far.

These assessments play a key role in identifying areas where the children are excelling and where additional support may be needed. Through this process, teachers are able to adjust their teaching approaches to ensure that every child is given the best opportunity to succeed.

We continue to appreciate all our supporters and well-wishers whose contributions make it possible for these children to access education and grow with confidence. Your support is truly making a difference, and we kindly ask for your continued encouragement as we guide these young learners toward a brighter future.
