How we started.

Arise and Shine Children's Care Project - Kabale is a non-profit organization that commenced in January 2020 with 27 children, aged between 3 and 7 years, attending a nursery school established under this project in the Rubanda district of southwestern Uganda. This community-based organization is officially registered with the government under registration number RBD/921/CBO/0052023 and was founded by Aruho Onesmas.

The primary objective of this organization is to ensure that children can access their fundamental rights, such as education, the right to proper nutrition, and the right to express themselves. These are just a few examples, as many children, particularly those who are vulnerable, have been denied equal access to their rights in Kitojo Parish and throughout Uganda. This dire situation compelled us to establish this organization, with a particular focus on helping these vulnerable children access their rights, especially in the realm of education.

In the mentioned areas, some children are compelled to engage in labor, such as Kiyola stone quarry and Busirimuko sand mining, to secure food for their families. This situation hampers their access to education, as they spend a significant portion of their time working, leading to both educational deprivation and adverse health consequences, considering their underage status. In response to these challenging conditions faced by the community, we decided to establish a school as part of this project. This school aims to provide children with education by supporting them with school fees, food, scholastic materials, and other personal necessities required for successful learning.
